As we look around and we see the tides changing, you have a choice to make. Adjust your sails or allow the boat to wash ashore. But where to go? The resorts are closed, and the cities are on fire. As they say, home is where the heart is, so maybe that is where the answer lies. Home. So, what does home mean to you? Is it your happy place? Your escape? Or are you afraid to admit that it is your unhealthy reality?
You have seen the headlines. Between lay-offs and civil unrest, “The Rona” and protests, there is a lot to be said for hunkering down right now. So why not use this time to chart the course for the rest of your life? Or to decide where you really want to take your business now that you know what it feels like to “feed the machine” I have been lucky enough to have figured out what I wanted to do with my life decades ago. But that is not to say that my course has always been straight, nor true. We all face adversity. We all struggle with our demons. Anyone who says that they don’t is just a good salesperson.
Part of my morning routine is to share inspiration with my partner. She is fueled by it and the daily exercise is a constant reminder about what life is all about. This morning, I ran across a quote from one of my favorite poets and it inspired this post:
I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.”
― Maya Angelou
When was the last time you reassessed what you really care about? Have you really given the appropriate time to think through what you want out of the rest of your life? Are you too close to the forest to see the trees? Did you think you had it all figured out and then the world turned upside down? Or maybe you have found yourself at exactly the right place at exactly the right time and now you need to figure out how to reel in the whale that you just caught.
Regardless of your situation, the answer is the same. JOY FILLED GOALS.
I invite you to follow me as I share my thoughts and dreams, coupled with some of the techniques and tools that I have shared with countless customers over the decades of consulting that I have done. If you have questions or comments, let’s hear them. Start a dialog…publicly or privately.
And if you need personalized help to figure it out, that’s part of what I do. It’s part of what I call The Process Distillery. And it can be used to help you figure out where to take your business, or it can be applied to your journey and help you find your way to the life you have always wanted. Even if you would never admit it to yourself before.
